Oriflame colordrop lipstick in peach sensation review
How are you doing today?? The sweaty weather is choking me! I can bear the heat easily but the sweat kills me! And in this weather you sometimes need just a little pop of color on your face and what can be better than a lipstick. Plus, you can barely apply anything else on your face apart from sunscreen!
After my AVON ultra color wild ginger lipstick, which was my first, I bought my second lipstick from Oriflame. This is a new range by them and the specialty is the shape of the lipstick! It is drop shaped and has a curved tip to ease the application!
And it does just that indeed! Today I am going to review the shade peach sensation. Let’s get on with it. Shall we?
Package: - The lipstick comes in a dark fuchsia tube with color drop written in silver on the cap and the tube that holds the lipstick is also slightly curved as you can see, so the lipstick maintains the shape throughout.
The lipstick tube is sleek but not small. It is longer than usual and I am guessing due to the shape. The package is not very impressive but is a little different than the usual black or gold tube. It is easy to carry, as the cap is tight. The name of the lipstick is written on back of the tube in white.
Texture: - The lipstick has an extremely creamy texture and literally glides on lips. But unfortunately it starts to break off since it is very, very soft. I thought it was melting like an ice cream! So I stored this in fridge and the problem was solved. But fridge is for food not for cosmetics!
Pigmentation and color: - Though the shade is named as peach sensation, it is more like a baby pink with hint of peach. Have no shimmers, which is a relief. The coverage is medium and requires two coats for that. Has a vague blue undertone. The finish is glossy and stays that way for almost the whole period it is on.
Staying power: - stays put for almost three hours, which is not very long, without meals. With meals it lasts for the time till you have your meal and then leaves a light tint so you can take some time to apply it. But since it is a creamy lipstick with glossy finish, I would not mind if it stays for three hours
My experience: - I like the texture and the color and it gives good coverage on my slightly pigmented upper lips. It is glossy but not mirror shine type of glossy. It is subtly glossy. The color is sweet and would suit fair to wheat-ish skin tones.
The only part I did not like was the fragrance. It has a strong strawberry fragrance which is sweet but stays for a very long time. It bothers me to apply lipstick with fragrance, but if you like that then you won’t have a problem. It really makes the application easy due to its shape. But it would have been wonderful if the lipstick was not this soft.
You can skip this if you want but, if you are not afraid of fragrance in your lipstick I would say give this a try.
