Forest essentials After bath body oil In India Review| Iced Pomegranate & Kerala Lime

Body oils have always been scary and a little uncomfortable to use for me. I have always used them wrong, I found out recently. Most Indian body oils I had grown up with were pre-shower oils, and I had been using the new age body oils like I would any Ayurvedic Indian oil mix, like Eladi etc.
I learned that the after-shower body oils are meant to be used after shower as advertised, but not on dry skin like moisturising lotions, instead in the shower on slightly damp skin for the oil to be absorbed beautifully. Now, with this new knowledge, when I started using the after-bath shower oil from Forest Essentials, I was floored! Did not have a great experience before with the same product without learning the right way to use it even though the product clearly says that it is an after-bath body oil; there is no clear instruction on how to use it.

Hence, I was holding out on the review, and I gave the explanation about my lack of knowledge right off the bat before we began the review.

Product

The Forest essential after bath shower oil is available in multiple variants; the one I am reviewing is the Iced Pomegranate and Kerala lime variant. The body oil is non-greasy and very beautifully fragranced. The Fragrance is not overpowering, and yet it is strong. I do not like floral fragrances, but I much rather prefer fruity and herb-y ones. The Iced Pomegranate and Kerala lime is perfect for that. Opens up as a warm citrus fragrance and stays on as a rich fruity fragrance for a long time.

The oil is a colored oil to match the variant name, but it doesn't affect the skin in terms of colour. But I would prefer no added colour personally.
Make sure you use the oil on damp skin, so it gets absorbed quickly and stays on the skin.
The oil, once absorbed, doesn't transfer to clothing or any other surface, but if you apply it to dry skin, it does. It is primarily a water-soluble oil, so it works best with a bit of water on your skin

When the skin is damp, the shower oil gets emulsified a bit, and that is how it gets emulsified. The oil contains sunflower oil, apricot kernel oil and a blend of other oils and pomegranate peel extract. The oils used as ingredients are cold-pressed, and the essential oils are also certified organic.

Extra Points from me as: The forest essentials after bath oil has no petroleum products (mineral oil) or parabens in it.

Packaging

For the premium price of about 15 rupees per ml of product, I'd say, this better have a great experience. The outer box packaging effectively conveys the brand's luxury Ayurveda messaging through its premium design and materials, as well as a seal, to ensure the new product's integrity. The outer packaging has the ingredients list indicated, but apart from the USP of beautiful outer packaging, the bottle itself is very classy, and it is important that it be, cause that's the part that'll stay with me.

Price

1850 INR for 130 ml of After Bath Oil. The variants are available and listed on the Forest Essentials official website, or you can get the Iced Pomegranate and Kerala Lime variant directly, with offers on their website!

Also available on - Nykaa, Amazon, for quick delivery of the product, Myntra has a smaller size - 50 ml of the bath oils available only.

My experience with Forest Essentials after bath oil

Has been amazing to say the least. This is beautiful, although a bit too expensive for my everyday use, and the feeling from the fragrance that lingers is equally beautiful. My skin feels and looks moisturised, perfect for the winters and summers, and the most apt form of body care during those season change months.

I would 10/10 recommend and would go ahead and ask you to layer this oil with Forest Essentials' body mists or perfumes for the fragrance to linger longer.

But that's about all you are getting from this oil. A mild and stunning perfume that gives no headaches and a pure blend of cold-pressed oils that keep your skin looking and feeling good. If you are looking to address any skin concerns for your body, this is not the product. It's great for general maintenance, and not targeted for any skin concerns.
