I love Maybelline for launching new products frequently and also pricing them within the budget, but with maybelline’s recent launch- Colorshow Bright sparks, I am not very impressed.
There are 8 shades in the range and all these were chosen by beauty bloggers, well, more or less!
I am reviewing the only shade I liked in the shade and something I did not have. Spark of steel.

I’ll tell you about all the other shades after reviewing this.

Color: - Spark of steel is somewhat a hybrid of grey and dark blue. I was confused whether to call it Bluish grey or greyish blue. It is a color that would look fabulous on cars I must say but I love the color. It is a bluish steel gray with abundant tiny silver shimmers giving the metallic look.

Finish: - it has a metallic finish to it, neither glossy nor matte.
Packaging:- Nothing special, It’s similar to the normal color show packaging , with bright sparks printed in white on the black cap. Cylindrical glass bottle.

Brush: - medium sized brush and holds the polish pretty well.
Formula: - Nice runny formula given the abundance of shimmers. Dries pretty quickly.

Longevity: - now this is a little disappointing. I applied the polish at night and in the morning I say the polish chipped just a bit. And on the second day it got worse. Looses the shine and fades a bit on the second day.
Pigmentation: - Pretty good, one coat is okay but for full coverage you need two coats. I am wearing two coats.

Price: - 85 INR
Quantity: - 7 ml
Rating:- 3.5/5

Now let’s move onto the other 7 shades.

There are 8 shades in the collection out of which

Blazing blue – Is a bright cobalt blue, no shimmers, didn’t interest me.

Molten maroon- I liked this shade but it is just a bit darker than Revlon parfumerie Bordeaux , so I skipped this.

Burnished gold- Almost like Bold gold , with just slightly bigger shimmers and a tinge of brown. And this was not chosen by a blogger.

Power of red- A bright orange red, I have the same shade in Colorama range.

Firewood brown- I might buy this later or not. But it is a unique shade.

Flash of coral- A tad bit pinker than Coral craze, which I have already.

Glowing wine- I loved the color when I saw the picture on instagram, but hated it the moment I saw this. A magenta – ish purple shade with loads of magenta shimmers.

So maybe- just maybe I might buy firewood brown, but not any other color.

And I could not understand why this collection is named “Bright Sparks”!
