The Alpa & Reena show at Bangalore Fashion week

This time I could only visit the fashion week only one day. Although I wanted to go everyday, but the distance stopped me from going.

That day I attended a few show and you would know if you follow me on snapchat ID priyanjana_mns. More on that later.
I was fortunate enough to attend the Show by Alpa and Reena as well the very same day.

They presented their collection "Malakia" and it was a delight to see 4 bloggers walk down the ramp adorned in their collection!

Personally I loved the delicate and sophisticated pieces in the collection. I loved how they used pastel hues and Chikankari for a winter festive collection (Breaking stereotypes is awesome!). Their digital printed garments were a delight to the eyes as well. Rich earthy tones were also an integral part of the collection. But the thing which won my heart was the use of ombre. Ombre is a personal favorite and when I spotted the same in rich earthy hues, I was impressed!

A little about the collection -

“Malakia” boasts of myriad choices from the elegant silk and digital design to the majesty of velvets and lucknowi. The colours incorporated are white, spicy mustard, lush meadow, cashmere rose, midnight blue, taupe & gold.

Highlighting the intricate weaves, the (extensive) innate embroidery sets each piece apart. From ample ruffles and tulle appliqués to elaborate draping and contrasted bold volumes Alpa&Reena’s latest range combines haute couture with the haut monde.

And about Alpa and Reena -

The bespoke label incepted and conceptualized by the sister team has evolved to become a well-regarded and desirable brand. Over the last 20 years, Alpa&Reena have built a strong institution by working closely with the best craftsmen and weavers across the country and constantly striving to preserve handicraft practices, and empower local rural communities.
